It's truly disheartening news that Coffeeshop Blues Brothers has closed its doors permanently. The ongoing closures of coffeeshops due to new regulations, withdrawn licenses, or failure to renew licenses are a sad reality in Amsterdam's ever-evolving landscape.

Cannabis Coffee Shops near me by City:
Coffee shops near the borders with Belgium and Germany often have restrictions on allowing tourists. To enter and purchase cannabis, you must either be a Dutch citizen or be employed in the Netherlands.
If you're temporarily working or studying in the country, you can obtain proof from the city council and request a GBA Extract (GBA-Uitreksel). This documentation will help demonstrate your eligibility to access these establishments.

I just did a quick search to see if Blues Brothers was still in business, and I am so sad to see they have closed. I went there when I was 19 in 2007, and I am returning to Amsterdam for a long layover in May. I was so hoping to revisit! While I was there as a naive young American tourist, a man fully covered in tattoos (done by a monk) taught me how to roll my first joint. It was quite memorable. :)
